Security
Are your Information Systems Secure?
You have a Firewall Router - but are you Secure?
What is a firewall, really?
A firewall is not one device that connects you to the internet. A firewall is a network defense plan and map with rules for known and unknown data traffic.
The key to securing your IT infrastructure is to selectively allow only known systems to pass known traffic through your network. This requires one or more firewalls throughout your network. High Risk Servers, such as web servers, should be isolated and only required software should be installed on them.
Key Aspects of Information Security - requirements
Availability - information can always be accessed
Integrity - information is accurate and up-to-date and has not been deliberately or inadvertently modified from a previously approved version
Confidentiality - Knowing that sensitivity information can be accessed only by those authorized to do so
